Magnesium: label tricks and testing
Many brands list total compound weight instead of elemental magnesium. A 500mg magnesium oxide capsule contains only 300mg elemental magnesium—the rest is oxygen. This inflates the perceived dose.
Magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed (4% bioavailability). Bisglycinate is chelated to amino acids for superior absorption and gentler digestion. We use bisglycinate and declare the elemental dose.
We test the finished product—not just raw materials—to verify actual magnesium content, purity, and absence of contaminants. Certificates available on request.
Always check: Is it elemental magnesium? What form? Is the finished product tested? If a brand won't answer, walk away.
